Delete your account

Lagos Life · GreatCallie International Ltd

You can do it yourself, now

Deleting your account and the data behind it takes about ten seconds and needs nobody's permission. It happens in the game:

  1. Open Lagos Life and make sure you are signed in — the same account you want closed.
  2. Open the Phone tab, then Settings.
  3. Choose Delete account and data, one row under Sign out.
  4. Read what will go, confirm, and it is done. If you signed in with a password, it asks for that password — to be sure it is really you.

It closes the account immediately. There is no waiting period, no “deactivated” state and no undo: signing in again afterwards starts a brand new Sim.

Cannot get into the app?

If you have already uninstalled Lagos Life, changed phones, or cannot get past the sign-in screen, write to [email protected] with the subject Delete my Lagos Life account and we will close the account and erase the data by hand.

Tell us the username you played under, or the email address or Google/Apple account you signed in with — something that identifies the account. That is all we need. Never email us your password: we do not need it, and we will never ask for it.

We confirm and complete requests like this within 30 days, and in practice you should hear from us far sooner. A request is treated the same whether it comes through the app or this address.

What is deleted, and what is kept

DataWhat happens to it
Your sign-in account Deleted. The username and any email address on it are freed, and can be used to sign up again from scratch
Your saved Sim Deleted. Needs, money, skills, home, furniture, career and relationships all go with it, as does any top-up balance waiting to be collected
Avatar, name, presence and push addresses Deleted. Nobody sees you in Lagos again and the server stops being able to notify that phone
Your chat messages, and the direct conversations that phone knew about Deleted from the chat rooms and from both sides of those direct conversations
Your blocked list Deleted
Anything on your own device Deleted, and uninstalling the app or clearing the browser's site data would remove it too
Payment records Kept — see below

The one thing that is kept, and why

If you bought in-game naira, the record of that purchase is kept. Tax and consumer law require us to be able to show what was sold and when, so an order number, an amount and a date stay behind.

That record holds no Sim, no chat and no profile — it is an accounting entry for money received, not a picture of you, and it cannot be played, shown or handed to anyone else. It is kept for six years, the period Nigerian company law requires accounting records to be held, and then removed.

Everything else listed above goes at the moment you confirm. The privacy policy covers the same ground from the other direction, and says what the game holds in the first place.
