Every Lagos Life story starts in the creator. You choose who your Lagosian is, what they wear to the owambe, and the one trait that decides how they handle the city. Nothing here is locked behind a purchase, and you can change your look later.

Body, skin and hair
Pick a woman or a man, then one of seven skin tones from Sand to Ebony. Hairstyles are different for each body, because a low cut on one is not the same shape as on the other.
- Women: braids, afro, bun, ponytail, long, locs, low cut, gele, or the classic look.
- Men: low cut, bald, curls, afro, locs, braids, or the classic look.
Dress for the occasion
Outfits are chosen by occasion, then by cloth. A woman can dress casual, for the office, for site work or for the owambe; a man can dress casual, in a hoodie, for the office, for site work or in a chill party shirt. Then pick the fabric: plain, Ankara, Adire or Aso-oke, and the colours of the top and the bottom.
Choose a trait
The trait is the part that changes how the game plays. Each one speeds up a skill or changes how a need behaves.
| Trait | What it does |
|---|---|
| Hustler | Hustle grows faster, and bosses notice. |
| Foodie | Learns cooking fast, and food is extra enjoyable. |
| Owambe Spirit | Parties and dancing hit different, but gets bored quicker. |
| Gym Rat | Fitness grows fast, and workouts feel good. |
| Smooth Talker | Charisma grows fast, and socials land better. |
| Lazy Bone | Energy lasts longer; work suffers a bit. |
| Clean Pikin | Hygiene drops slower than for others. |
| Night Crawler | Lagos no dey sleep, neither do you. Loves nightlife. |
| Tech Bro or Sis | Coding grows faster. |
| Musical | Music skill grows faster. |
Match the trait to the life you want
A trait works best when it lines up with your career. Tech Bro or Sis suits the Tech, Pilot and Petroleum Engineering ladders, which promote on coding. Smooth Talker suits Banking, Teaching and Cabin Crew, which promote on charisma. Musical pairs with the Music and DJ careers. The skills guide and the traits data go deeper.
Then pick an aspiration, the long goal your Lagosian chases: Oga at the Top, Lekki Landlord, Afrobeats Star, Everybody's Padi or Yaba Unicorn.
