Play a life simulator free in your browser

Guide · 5 October 2026 · 3 minutes

A life simulator is a game about an ordinary life: keeping up with needs, earning a living, buying things, and living with the consequences. Most of them ask you to install something first. Lagos Life does not — it opens in your browser, free, with nothing to download and no account needed to start.

Why it starts in the browser

Because a game should not cost you 200MB, a store account and a card before you know whether you like it. It runs at lagoslife.com.ng/play on a phone, a laptop or whatever you are reading this on. If you add it to your home screen it opens full screen like an app, but it is still just a web page — nothing installed, nothing to update.

The Android and iPhone apps are coming soon, and they will use the same account and the same save. So a Lagosian you start today is not lost when they land.

How to start

  1. Open lagoslife.com.ng/play.
  2. Choose Play offline to start without an account, or sign in if you want a cloud save and the chat.
  3. Design your Lagosian — shape, height, look and a line or two about who they are.
  4. Pick a trait. It changes how the city reacts to you, for good and for bad.
  5. Move into a place you can actually afford. Mushin is cheaper. That matters more than it sounds.

Your first hour in Lagos

Six needs fall on their own — hunger, energy, fun, social, hygiene and bladder — and everything you do costs in-game minutes. So the early game is a rhythm: eat, wash, sleep, and take work that pays enough to cover the next meal. Take a shift, run a gig, or chase a promotion on the skills you are actually building.

Then comes Saturday. The rent is due, and it does not care how your week went. This is the whole difficulty curve of the game: not a boss, not a timer — a bill, every week, in a city that only has so many minutes in a day.

The part that is different from other sims

You do not just earn in Lagos Life — you can spend the money on being seen. Paint one of the 38 billboards over the roads (₦100,000 for a week, your own emoji on the board) or rent a plot on the lagoon (₦50,000 a week). Every slot is shared and first come, first served, and the map puts a name on whoever holds it — so what you put up is an advert other players really see. Work for it, then advertise it.

Ready to try it? It is free and it takes about ten seconds to start.
